Kona has the best snorkeling, but the beaches on Kohala Coast are way better

Specifically Hapuna and Mauna Kea Beach. Mauna Kea Beach is part of the resort and they hand out about 40 passes at any one time, and it's usually voted one of the best beaches in the world. The snorkeling around there is great as well, as the beach is usually calm compared to Hapuna.
