So is this just a matter of semantics? Spencer didn't say anything whether
the GAMES were competitive. He asked if the SERIES is competitive, and I'm sorry Michigan losing 14 of 15 to Ohio State, that is not a competitive series in recent history, and I don't care how close a few of those games were. Same thing for BYU/Utah.

This lately has not been a competitive SERIES even if there have been a few games that could have gone our way. It is not self loathing to admit that.

You guys can cuddle up with the fact the we outscored Utah 28-0 after crapping the bed in the 1st quarter of the Vegas Bowl, or take some solace that we scrambled to score some points at the end in 2017 to make it a 6 point game when anybody watching knew that Utah was clearly the better team that day. I don't take anything positive from those games, maybe except that the team didn't give up. But hey, they were 1 score games right, so we can chalk them up to being competitive? Except games like that can happen in football, where a dominated team can makes it close late. So am I'm supposed to only remember that we made it close at the end, and forget the performance and how we looked against them for the rest of the game?

Also, and no one can argue this, that when there have been blowouts, the last 15 years or so it is most definitely Utah doing the blowing out. Not us. This isn't self-loathing to admit. It's the simple truth.

I mean, I'm glad they didn't give up in those 2 games that I mentioned and fought to the end. I do believe we belong on the same field as Utah. Of course we do. We can beat them this week! I consider myself a positive person, I really do. I have a lot of hope this Thursday. But when you pull out and look at the SERIES at a whole, who would call this competitive lately?

Honest question. A tennis player sweeps another player 6-1, 6-1. So the losing player wins 2 games total, and lets say played 5 other games really tough but lost them, even had a few break points they couldn't convert. Was this a competitive tennis match? I'd say no.
