Unfortunately Disney has provided a model that you can crank out comic book
films or live-action remakes and make a TON of money. Not much thought required for those

Is it just me, or has there been a dearth of good movies released in theaters

Agree. Blah in the theaters. No original ideas...boring stuff

You must be over 35 and not a nerd.

For a film that cares very little about plot, I guess.

It’s the only decent movie I can recall seeing in theaters in months.

We just saw the Peanut Butter Falcon and thought it was great.

Horror is an awful genre IMO

The worst genre IMO

I’m not a “fan” of horror as a genre. But there are some great horror movies.

We've had a few really good horror movies this year, with possibly more to come.

Psycholgical horror films can save the genre. Slasher style blood and gore are the worst.

Yep. The Shining, Silence of the Lambs (widely considered horror), The Babadook, etc. are all great movies.

I'd like to see those two. Hereditary I have no desire to see
