According to scores of yewt fans the only reason BYU got out to a 20-0 first half lead was because Utah players weren’t playing hard and were mentally checked out for the game. Once they mentally corrected they started to play for real.

Heard the same story in 2015 at the LVB. The only reason BYU was able to catch up in that game (and the only reason we held Utah to under 100 yds total offense for the last 2 1/2 quarters of play) was because Utah players took their foot off the gas from the 2nd Q on.

Huh....s’funny how that works. Apparently Utah is the only team that takes it’s foot off the gas and this in spite of the fact that they have a coach whose reputation is built on his ability to game prep and prepare his team mentally and emotionally for big games. It’s a little confusing...
