I assume you haven't eaten a spoonful of maggots. So it seems more like a look thing than a "mouthfeel" thing, maybe I'm missing something.

The problem with the brussel sprouts is the method of preparation. They're not that great steamed.

Pasta itself, or are there specific pasta dishes/sauces you don't like? For example, marinara is ok, but not alfredo.
