Week 1- As we all know, BYU lost to Utah 30-12. The game was close at half time, 9-6, but Utah used a punishing ground game and several turnovers to cruise to the second half victory. Utah then beat NIU 17-35 in similar fashion in week 2. The score was close at half, 17-21, but Utah once again had a strong 2nd half. The previous week, NIU had beaten Illinois State 24-10, but the game wasn't that close.

AND, FWIS, Georgia State won a tough, high scoring affair against Furman 42-48 at home. Furman had previously demolished Chico State 46-13.
