They scaled out of control quickly and became a distraction for the team. If I remember correctly the TX game ended up having it broadcasted to multiple stake buildings and was a logistical nightmare for the local congregations. There is a reason they don't bring the players to the tailgate events. It's been requested in the past and shot down.
I worked closely with CC and trying to grow that program out. One thing we looked at was an early entrance for CC members to the firesides. I was told early on that they were trying to find an out with them. It was pretty obvious considering how quickly they were dropped when Kalani took over.
Another example of my comment above about the access we have as fans to the team and coaches. Can you imagine a team like OU or Clemson doing something like that?
