is a well-known, long-established brand in college football, and we have a large national fanbase. I’ve lived in SEC and Big Ten country for most of the last 3 decades, and have always noticed how much football fans tend to know about BYU, or at least they almost all recognize the brand.

There are many unlikely markets in which we are the #2 or #3 most popular team in that market, behind the local team(s). Some neutral fans like to watch us just because we’re often an underdog vs the big boys, with a reputation for taking them down fairly frequently. And we play in a lot of exciting games. The fact that we have a lot of white boys on the team also makes us more underdoggish and endears us to a certain segment of the population, honestly — I’ve heard those comments a number of times through the years.
