The cop in Malad helped me fill out the report, advising me to say that the deer ran off (true), and that was the last I saw it. Apparently if I could have confirmed that it was dead, I would have received a ticket. Deer jumps in front of you, and apparently Utah wants to punish you for it. Dumb lawmaking.
