I’ve had strong opinions for 3 years about Tuiaki’s approach.
It wasn’t until last week after hearing pundit after pundit, both pro BYU and pro USC, state that BYU needed to do exactly what Tuiaki has been doing. Yea it’s not flashy like I’ve been wanting it to be, but it doesn’t matter. You can run any O or D as long as you execute.

So, last week was a turning point for me and I watched the game in a different way, understanding on a deeper level that we were going to have to give up some things for the greater whole over 4 quarters.

In the past folks on here were trying to explain that to me but I was so set in my desire for a tricked up front that I didn’t realize we’re kind of getting that with the back 8. It’s just a different way of approaching it.

So, don’t be too hard on us that are just coming around. Many of us have been around football a long time so it’s not necessarily a lack of knowledge, just a paradigm shift that has been very difficult for some of us to make.
