determine your value/status by comparing yourself to others. When you're older, hopefully, you determine your value/status by evaluating whether you are using your strengths, gifts and talents, and whether you are improving upon weaknesses.

I used to get frustrated when BYU lost to better teams. Now, I only get frustrated when they don't play to their strengths or capitalize on their advantages. BYU can't be faster than the others, but they can be smarter, more disciplined, more sound, etc.

So I'm with you. If they play hard and smart, then losses to more athletic teams just doesn't bother me anymore.
