Exactly, and fans blamed the longer distance for lowering the trajectory

Sports media joined them blaming the ridiculous penalty for celebrating a TD causing a loss. But when asked, the kicker acknowledged that he didn't intentionally try to lower the trajectory for more distance. He kicks a 35 yard PAT exactly the same way as a 20 yard PAT, it was just a bad kick.

But most people choose to ignore that statement, and label this as one time that refs determined the outcome of a game.
