It's true that he had severe limitations--especially his second year. And I'm sure he would have
had much more success with the players on this year's roster.

I don't want to beat a dead horse, and I am very happy to bury the hatchet and welcome Ty back with open arms as the great QB that he was. But if we are being honest, we have to acknowledge that Ty would not have Zach Wilson on his roster this year if he were still around. That is not speculation--Ty made the decision not to recruit Zach. So that is one clear example of how the roster would not be the same right now if Ty were still around. There are probably others.

Ty is a great guy, and was an awesome QB for us back in the day. But it just didn't work out for him as our OC. That's ok--it's in the past and I am glad Ty still wants to be a part of the BYU family in spite of that. We are better off having him with us in our alumni base than not.
