I’m no Bronco-ite. I was ready for him to move on for several years before it happened. I can rattle off plenty of things I was frustrated with when analyzing his coaching.
But it rarely works out well for schools who let go of coaches who are proven winners, and you better have a clearly superior candidate. When BYU is so limited in their head coaching candidates, it was fairly predictable that BYU would regress after Bronco left. Only Andy Reid, Mike Leach, and Ken Niumatalolo would realistically be better than Bronco, and the first two aren’t happening.
