the nuances in the offense and defense, trick play variations, practice onside kicks, 2 point conversion every TD, practice really long field goals, gambling for the INT, and for heavens sake - disguised blitz packages like crazy to see if we can finally get some pressure on the dang QB. Or, play some of the up and coming players, just to see what they can do, and to get them some real PT vs 4 and 5 star players.
But, just going through the motions, playing conservative on offense and defense, and trying to avoid injury make Jack a very dull boy. Even if you can't win - go all out, and give the players something to get excited about. Run a bunch of fun plays, and do things you wouldn't otherwise take a chance on if the game is tight!! C'mon coaches! These guys wanna play, and even if they lose, every fun play they convert will be a memory they'll have forever. Mosying along the sideline whilst getting blown out doesn't create memories!
