the boosters aren't seeking a profitable arrangement. they are trying to get recruits to pick BYU. Puka Nacua is a guy
that some BYU donor/donors would have paid tens of thousands to go to BYU.
Same with Siaki Ika, Noah Sewell, Nate Ritchie etc.... These are the guys that the BYU boosters would pay to see in Royal...
Imagine how different the rivalry game would be if we could keep guys like Ritchie, Harrison, and Fotu from going to the Yewts and we could get them in Provo instead. Obviously, taking their best recruits makes them worse... and adding those 3 makes us better.
Flipping 3 top recruits each year would be huge.
