When I taught at BYU, one prof in the math dept did get a warning for long tests

The testing center emailed her and told her to consider shortening her tests because she had 40 students take 4+ hours on a test.

Don't know if this is standard operating procedure.

I tried always to make my tests doable within 2 hours or so.

I'm old enough there was no testing center when I attended. Somehow I survived.

It depended on the subject, teacher and quality of test questions.

In class was better. No testing center beard nazis because even the professors thought it was dumb to shave daily

Had in-class for my grad program. Tests were much shorter which was nicer.

I don't think they had testing centers or clickable pencils when I attended....

I had church in the Testing Center for a couple of years. We used to say it was the most spiritual place on campus

I liked the instant results and didn't mind the hard seats but hated the long lines
