I personally don't believe that, in purpose, BYU is a missionary tool.
However, I think it has been a missionary tool from time to time in specific situations. I've heard a few real life stories that I believe that. But as far as a principal objective of the program, no, it's not.

Lol, nobody is arguing that coaches can't be LDS...look at Genaro Gilford, Ed Lamb, Grimes, Mateos, Schroyer, etc.
