no.. the church isn't going to abandon the program
Too much money invested in the past, and BYU does help PR wise in regards to the Church. I think money or lack of it will push some action, how much? That's really the question. I don't expect there will be ever a move to compete with big time college programs, but I can see them opening up the coffers a little more for better coaching, facilities, etc.
