I started off in a career and industry I never expected to jump into as a Sophomore in college when
A friend invited me to help her start a company. While I didn’t always love the work, it is an industry that I have become passionate about because of all the corrections that need to be made in it (business side of healthcare). I was going to school for broadcast communications, but I had to make a decision to pursue my passion (sports broadcasting, which I had very good connections within the industry and could have gotten in) or pursue a career in an industry I had never even considered.

I ended up choosing the career and industry that would allow me to maximize my earning potential very early on and stayed in healthcare. No matter what, it’s always work, but I have never regretted my decision. If anything, I feel like I was somewhat guided into what I am doing today. I’ve had the opportunity to start or help start 3 companies, and growing companies and positioning them to help create change in the industry has been more fun than I could have imagined.

My point is just because you do not have a passion for something before doesn’t mean you can’t develop a passion for that.
