If he wants to change career paths to medicine he needs to know what his future
Holds. 4 years of medical school which can very taxing and demanding. 2 of those years will be book work and two years will be clinical. He will then spend a lot of money to apply for residencies and interview. If he wants to match into a competitive residency he will need to do some research and other projects prior to applying for residency. Residency is whole other beast with low pay for the hours worked.

Basically, if he wants to give up 7-10 years of his life to become a doctor, more power to him, but it isn’t an easy road at all.
