running. An effective run blitz will take all of the lanes and give the runner no where to go. While one lineman can create a cut back, the majority of the time the defense is going to win against the run while run blitzing.
Against the pass you have to play man and hope two things:
1. That you get quick pressure on the QB
2. That your backend can hold up in man
To me those are both better options than what we went with on Saturday.
Ultimately we need linebackers that will fill and plug holes and make tackles. That isn't happening. A lot of it is scheme, a lot of it is personnel.
