I vote keep the honor code, change how it is "enforced".
I'm good with the honor code.

I would say that there are some things that are a little over the top. No hair on your collar or no beards. I guess some of that has slightly lightened up a little.

So I'd say change the honor code to actually be about HONOR. (Like - I think you can have a beard or long hair and still be honorable.)

Some issues would still need to result in pretty severe consequences, I'd say. But that's mostly cheating and breaking the law stuff.

For moral issues - let ecclesiastical leaders handle it. Still require the ecclesiastical endorsement, and if the religious leader believes that the kid is not interested in following the rules (RE: word of wisdom, law of chastity, etc.) then the religious leader doesn't sign. If he is working with the kid and the kid is sincere but struggles, then it's their call to sign or not. But the school doesn't need to be involved in determining that.

From a religious perspective, I would just say that the bishop has the mantle and calling that comes with the right to receive inspiration and revelation - but I don't think "honor code enforcement investigator" is an official calling within the church that comes with those keys or that mantle.
