Honestly, it will suck your soul. Not worth fighting it. Just plant some trees
along the back row that are non-deciduous.
Maybe give it one shot with RMP, but I am telling you that these kinds of things have a way of taking on a life of their own and you will lose. They don't do anything without easements, and I am sure they have the right to do what they did.
