The last 20 years of BSU football has been impressive to say the least.
2 undefeated seasons.
6 one loss seasons.
3 three loss seasons.
3 4 loss seasons.
That makes 14 of their 20 that have 4 losses or less.
Their worst season was 8-5.
There is something to be said for SOS.
However, shouldn't BYU be able to equal that or dare I say be better than BSU?
There are positives and negatives to each program but isn't BYU supposed to be a better program and shouldn't the expectations be equal to or higher than BSU?
If I'm wrong and BSU is a better football program (they've had coaching changes as well, etc.) then I am wrong in thinking BYU should be a better program or having higher expectations than what BYU is putting on the field.
If BSU does have a better football program than BYU then ok, let's just accept that and adjust our expectations accordingly.
I just have a hard time looking at their success and thinking "Yeah BYU can't attain that since BSU is a better program."
Maybe they are. Maybe BYU is a worse program than BSU and has been for some time now. If so, it's sad that it's allowed to and become enabled by some to be such. I think (maybe wrongfully) that BYU should be better than BSU.
