1. The comment I responded to was "Just win dude. If BYU runs the wishbone and wins, I don't care."

2. That clearly implies that the person making the comment does not care how BYU does it, he/she just wants BYU to win.

3. In other words, as long as BYU wins the game, it doesn't matter what happens on the field.

4. Neither the original comment nor my subsequent comments were talking about something enjoyable being ruined by the way it ends.

5. I pointed out that the original comment essentially took the game itself out of the picture, with the fact of a win or a loss as the only thing remaining.

6. In other words, the original comment essentially took football out of the picture, and put enjoyment or non-enjoyment solely on the fact of a win or a loss.

7. Being entertained by the fact of a win and not being entertained by the fact of a loss are not the same as being entertained or not entertained by the game of football.

8. If the way the game is played is dull and uninteresting, but the team ends up winning anyway, fans can enjoy the fact that BYU won. It's always better than losing, of course.

9. However, that does NOT mean that the fans enjoyed FOOTBALL.

10. So, I asked if the person viewed football as entertainment.

It's as simple as that.
