Paranormal Activity isn't a slasher, doesn't have gore or over the top violence
and no nudity, etc. but is rated R.
It's pretty good.
So is the 1999 "The Blair Witch Project" also Rated R but also doesn't fit the gore or over the top violence (there's swearing because that's how those kids talk).
The VVitch is rated R and has no swearing and no over the top gore or violence (the violence is almost entirely implied) but is creepy as all get out.
So I'd recommend those even though they are Rated R.
