You are correct. But with head sets, a coach can call the play with another coach passing it onto the players
Plus, two possibilities: 1) Kalani didn’t want to upstage Tuiaki, so he let Tuiaki signal the plays and 2) continue to Have Tuiaki Signal the plays to avoid confusion with the players (looking for Tuiaki all season vs. now Kalani, who Has been said to have called the plays. I can’t confirm.
