But fans on here really exaggerate what Kalani might have implied. Way too many of you got sucked into this "ball control run the clock" nonsense. So you just believe he thinks BYU's style should be like Wisconsin. Sorry, it's more along the lines of being tough in the trenches and a bit of a smashmouth team, not about an offensive scheme. Washington is known as a team with a "smashmouth spread" type of game.

Next, especially on the note if what Kalani truly wants BYU to be, it's kind of important to distinguish between what he wants and what he needs them to be at a given time. It wasn't until Wilson that we've even had the QB to pass thr ball more under Kalani.
Personnel matters. And personnel dictated what were could do for the first few years. Building up each of the position groups will help BYU actually be able to form a more balanced identity.

That being said, obviously the offensive staff couldn't really get an identity going this year and have had their issues. That doesn't change anything I said though.

Keep in mind you're not only overreacting to past comments, but adding in an overreaction to an unconfirmed post by someone saying Kalani wants to run the air raid, which I really doubt he said. And even if he did, it would be because he thinks they'll have the personnel to one day do more of that. But again, I doubt it. He wouldn't have a vision for byu to become something they've never been.
