Home protection?? Buy a rusty pump shotgun. Don't even need to load
Everyone knows the sound of a pump shotgun, nobody is going to stay around to check your accuracy. Bad guys don't know if you have a pistol.
This is from the workshop done by the gentlemen doing time.

You have to try them out. I’m partial to the Shield for carry.

I’d go with a glock 17 or glock 19. Simple, easy to shoot, easy to disassemble.

If you want to protect yourself, get a double-barrelled shotgun

Totally agree. It's just harder to conceal carry.

I own two Glocks. Don’t buy a Glock.

Try a variety b4 purchase. How does it fit in your hand? How accurate for you?
