with the land where you're the closest school. Basically Utah gets northern Utah. BYU gets most of southern Utah. When you win a game, you get the territory of the team you beat. When you lose, you lose all your land to the team that beats you.
After the USF/Toledo games, BYU had no land. Then it beat Boise and picked up all the land Boise had accumulated over the season. Then it got USU's land the following week. Most recently it picked up Liberty's land. Idaho state probably doesn't have any land, so we won't increase the land holdings this week. SDSU is also landless after their loss last week. They play Hawaii this week (also landless), so we won't pick up any more territory until maybe the bowl game.
