Unpopular post alert:
There are downsides to having helicopter professors. In real life, their boss isn't going to be keeping tabs on our kids. They will have to make their own decisions and reap those consequences (good or bad). Part of college is gaining that independence and then learning how to use it wisely.

I'm not saying that isn't happening at BYU-I. I'm just saying an email because a kid missed class seems like a bit much. An email because you did well on an exam (or didn't do well on an exam) would be more my speed.

Note: I also wouldn't mind my kid going to BYU-I.
