If you give out too many D's and F's you get sanctioned by the administration. A friend of mine was asked to quit because his class was too hard. He now teachers at a community college and says his first generation community college students are doing more rigorous things than his students at BYU-I were doing. Another friend who still works there was asked by his Department chair to reduce the reading amount his class - so basically he covers half of what he should be covering.
