on byutv vs. what they expect to make from byu fans subscribing. I am sure they are hoping for subscriptions and banking on a percentage forgetting to cancel and getting rollover billing for continued subscription for a few months.
I agree it is just a business decision, but also understand that said decisions can lead to consumers reacting and doing things like boycotting, complaining, etc. No different than other businesses who make policies that consumers disagree with or don't like.
They may make a lot more than they anticipated with this move or it could backfire and they may make less than what they would have made agreeing to letting byu broadcast over byutv. They are rolling the dice and will be interesting to see how it goes.
