Because the NFL investigation proved nothing was said by Rudolph
Myles didn't bring it up post-game, the next day, or at any other time. Not only did he not publicly say anything but the Browns players and management didn't say anything about it. Only during the appeal did it get thrown out there.

It's not believing Mason's words that he didn't say anything, it's having no trust in Myles that anything was said because no mention had been made about it until now. It's complete bologna.
