Then again, I am a Ute, so you probably think I already messed my kids up.

Seriously, I think that sometimes sheltering, protecting and insulating kids sometimes lead to the exact opposite result.  Kids resent it, rebel, etc.  If she is a good kid with good grades and friends I think you should trust and reward her.
