I have heard / read about this and at the time I thought it was the correct call, but SCcoug has a pretty interesting argument. However, if the rule was correct, I believe that a back court violation should have been called on Rylan when BYU were pressing right before the Harding foul. I rewinded the game to see and it looked like Rylan went into the front court, BYU deflected the ball and Rylan was the last person to touch the deflection before the ball went into the backcourt. Seemed like the rule was not applied consistently between the two situations.
