When bowl payouts are discussed, many forget how many mouths must be fed
Conferences do have different payout scales, but the fact exists that all conference schools get a cut plus the conference office receives up to two cuts of the payout.
PAC 10 1/2 payouts sound impressive until expenses are taken out, the conference office is paid and then each of the twelve schools are fed.
Keep in mind in 2014 only 24 schools across the three divisions took in more revenue than they spent. Schools and states have had to subsidize the athletic programs.
BYU is one that operates in the black!
I am not saying BYU would not love a cut. But simply shares are not as much as some may think.
