yep, SW prequels used CGI as often as possible. I remember watching LoTR special
features on the DVDs and they were absolutely certain to only use it when necessary (and even then they did it much better than SW 1-3 did)
The "miniature" cities were very well done.
Gollum was very well done for the time (still holds up IMO)
The fell beasts still hold up. Some of the best dragons to date.
In SW, the non-CG aliens are clearly wearing rubber masks, and they move around like rubber.
