I think most of us count on having to work more when we are younger...
with the hope we can cut back as we get older. It has worked out that way for me, when I was in my 30's I probably worked 50 hours per week or more but now that I'm in my 50's it is probably closer to 30 hours per week. The irony is that I have far less going on now since my wife and I are empty nesters and working more would be a lot easier now than it was then, at least as far as me not having as many personal things I want to do.

I wish I could have turned that aorund but when you are young you are trying to establish yourself and get something better and it takes more time and effort. Once you are older you've hopefully gotten to that better place but it isn't quite as great as you'd hoped because you don't have all of the things to do with your kids any longer and the time isn't as important to you.
