It’s embarrassing how poor the broadband situation is in America compared to the rest of the developed world. More and

More the Internet is becoming a necessity of life. The industry is already an oligopoly, I think this is one of the few industries that could benefit from government oversight. Turn it into a utility or enable the market to somehow become competitive.

Even deep pockets who want to get involved can't. I remember when Google fiber was rolling out, Comcast repeatedly blocked access to utility poles preventing the to initial infrastructure buildout (which is especially frustrating considering companies like Comcast initially got access with the help of the federal government).

Fortunately for myself I am in a great situation with my ISP. I just feel bad that other people don't have access to this and there's nothing they can do to change that.
