Was reading the thread, waiting for someone to mention the schedule
While OP's thoughts are around player improvements and future outlook, the main reason 2020-21 doesn't look great is the schedule.
Now, if I felt the players improvement was as good as OP does (I don't) and if I felt BYU had a competent coaching staff (I don't) then I'd say next year could be "good" against a tough schedule.
But I predict another subpar season....
