Let us weigh the (limited) evidence: We have several posts from people who have lived in Utah for decades saying that they have never heard the word. We also have multiple posts from people saying that have heard it outside of Utah. And then your personal experience, reporting that you have heard it a bunch in Utah, but nowhere else.

Putting it all together, it seems likely that it is probably used by *some* people in Utah, but clearly not particularly common throughout Utah. And it seems that it is indeed used by some people outside of Utah - although, again, probably not all that common.
