argument. Until a legitimate argument is made that would clearly show that any move to a P6 would significantly increase overall revenue for existing P5 teams, then it's not really a valid argument. It's really about eyeballs/money and much less about on-field performance. Most AAC teams don't move that needle, many of them cannot even guarantee a commanding TV audience in their own backyards, let alone beyond.
The only way I see that changing is if congress got involved and started making noise about the P5 being a monopoly.
Short of that, I think there is a greater likelihood of a bunch of blue-blood P5 teams breaking from the NCAA to form a superconference than the P5 voluntarily expanding.
