I enjoyed the unpredictability and different style of story telling much more than a rehash of the heroes journey and a scavenger hunt where I know every single move before it happens. Unfortunately for all of us, bad in-universe science and gaping plot holes are a SW staple and prevalent in all the movies.

Rey's parents being nobody, a conflicted and failed Luke (thoughts and prayes to the ruined childhoods left in this plot point's wake), and the Big Bad dying out of nowhere were better than anything since ESB.
