I think I'd always want a car for some of those trips to places that uber doesn't frequent. Or for the longer drives that uber would be silly expensive. So I'll always want A car. But do my wife and I BOTH need a car? That seems like a good question to ask.

if my wife and I are both going to work each day - maybe one of us can take an uber and the other can drive the family vehicle. Maybe we can even trade off who drives and who takes the uber depending on what's going on that day and if one or the other will need to it during the day for something.

I think it's worth considering.
