I believe those are called entry level jobs
And you should stay in them for no more than 3-5 years.

Granted, this probably varies a lot by industry. Like my BIL is a lawyer and he's been paying dues all his life to make partner. But then he made partner and he is still paying dues, to become like a senior partner or something? I don't know, seems like a crappy life to still be grinding into your 40s.
