and the "best laid plans of mice and men . . ." apply to all of us, here are eight lifestyle choices/habits that I believe, all else being equal, slow down the aging process:
1) Generally avoiding harmful, addictive substances
2) Regularly getting 7-8 hours of quality sleep per night
3) Eating a diet that includes lots of colorful vegetables and fruits, healthy fats, and lean protein
4) Regular exercise that includes at least some resistance training
5) Keeping your mind active
6) Maintaining a healthy overall stress level
7) Maintaining healthy relationships
8) Having a positive attitude
Nothing earth shattering here but most of us struggle with at least one of these areas (early in my working career, I struggled with many of them, particularly 2-4 and 6-8 - and based on my posting record here, many would rightly conclude that I continue to struggle with 8).
