Interesting and surprising research a few years ago out of BYU about what factors extend life
Longitudinal study finding which factors most strongly correlated with the subjects still being alive years later.

Being overweight and exercise were lower than you would expect.

The top two were both social factors:

#2 having close relationships (Like a person that would help you out or even give you a loan)

#1 having social interaction with others that aren’t necessarily those closest to you (eg. Talking with the mailman)

Loneliness may be as deadly as alcoholism or smoking 15 cigarettes a day.
