too. Yoeli averages 21.5 points per game and ten rebounds and shoots 60 percent from the field. He has pretty steady productivity over three year span with only slight injury issues.
Baxter is injured. Missed an entire year. Averaged 4 points per game and 3 rebounds. Doesn't shoot from range.
Yeah we haven't seen Baxter as a junior or senior yet so the jury is still out...but i've seen enough to project hes not going to be as good as yoeli. Yoeli can take a pounding. Baxter is thin and wiry and now theres question about his physical reliability as hes already missed a season. Thats not a good sign for nba scouts. Unless pope works some sort of mystical magic on him where he develops an offensive skillset that doesn't involve just putbacks and lobs and dunks I don't see where the pro potential comes in. I've seen enough of BYUs greatest players not make the NBA enough to know that this guy probably wont make it either.
I just don't see a universe where Yoeli can't make it but Baxter can unless Baxter starts scoring the basketball and shooting from the outside. I highly doubt it. Yes hes athletic. But it doesnt mean he can make it to the NBA. You need athleticism and the ability to shoot and score and pass. I'm just not seeing it for Baxter. I would never put money on it.
